The legendary Tata Sierra is making a highly anticipated comeback, reimagined for the modern era. The new Tata Sierra, which was showcased in its near-production concept form at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, is set to be launched in both Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Electric Vehicle (EV) versions, combining its iconic boxy design with cutting-edge technology and multiple powertrain choices.

Expected Launch Timeline:
The new Tata Sierra is widely expected to be launched towards the end of 2025. Reports suggest the ICE (Petrol/Diesel) version could debut as early as November or December 2025, with the Tata Sierra EV following shortly after in late 2025 or early 2026. The EV version is built on Tata’s advanced acti.ev architecture.

Design: Retro Charm Meets Modernity
The design successfully pays homage to the original 1990s icon while adopting Tata’s contemporary design language.
- Iconic Silhouette: It retains the classic boxy, upright stance and a high bonnet, giving it a commanding road presence.
- Signature Rear Window: A modern interpretation of the original Sierra’s large, curved rear glass panel is incorporated, a key nostalgic design element. This is achieved with a distinct rear quarter window and a floating roof.
- Modern Touches: The front features a sophisticated look with split LED headlamps, a connected LED Daytime Running Light (DRL) bar, and a sleek, closed-off grille on the EV. Other modern additions include flush-type door handles and dual-tone alloy wheels.
Powertrain Options (Expected):
The Sierra will follow a multi-powertrain strategy, catering to a broad range of buyers.
| Engine Type | Expected Engine | Expected Power | Expected Torque | Transmission |
| Petrol | New 1.5-litre Turbo-Petrol (GDi) | 170 \PS | 280 \Nm | 6-speed Manual, 7-speed DCT |

Feature-Rich Interior:
The cabin is set to be a significant leap in technology and luxury for Tata Motors.
- Triple-Screen Layout: High-end variants are expected to feature a first for Tata—a connected triple-screen dashboard, including a digital driver’s display, a large central infotainment touchscreen, and a dedicated passenger-side entertainment screen.
- Premium Amenities: Expected features include a four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, ventilated and power-adjustable front seats, and a premium JBL sound system.
- Safety and Tech: The SUV is anticipated to come heavily loaded with safety features, including multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera system, and a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite.
